Want Proof The Private Sector Is Better ?

In Newt Gingrich's must read To Save America, the Conservatus Maximus writes:

"The American credit card industry processes over $2 trillion in transactions every year, and there are 800 million credit cards accepted by millions of vendors to buy countless products. Yet, fraud constitutes just one one-tenth of one percent of the credit card industry. Conservatively speaking, fraud in Medicare and Medicaid is 10 percent, making it 100 times worse."

Now, gee, why would that be ?

Well, that's easy. Anything the government can do, the private sector can do 100 times better. Why is that ? Profit. I know that's an unword to the 2+2=5 Progressivevik Junta that currently lurks in the halls of Congress these days, but I'm willing to risk a trip to the Ministry of Love to make a point. Profit is the greatest motivator known to mankind. The magical lure of profit gave us:

  • the cotton gin.
  • the light bulb.
  • the airplane.
  • the automobile.
  • television.
  • pinball machines.
  • personal computers.
  • the Atari 2600.
  • The Internet
What has our bloated pig of a federal government given us in the last 100 years ?

Nothing. Not a damn thing. The Big Mommy Regime is incapable of creating anything other than pointless regulation and zombie-like bureaucrats who need forms filled out in triplicate before they can have a bowel movement. Why is that ? The bureaucracy that has been put in place by Progressivevik Fuhrers like Woodrow The Horrible, Franklin Dictator Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson, and Everyone's Least Favorite Anti Semitic Peanut Farmer Jimmy Carter has no motive to keep itself afloat. It has become a self sustaining apparatus unto itself.  Whenever the bureaucracy ran into trouble, it slithered to Congress who happily wrote it a check. When Congress ran out of other people's money, the Federal Reserve fired up its printing presses. As a result, government services became worse and worse, because no matter how SNAFU the bureaucracy had become, Uncle Sugar would always be there to bail them out, no matter what the cost was. After all, what President would want to be known as the killer of Medicare or Medicaid ? What Congresswoman would want it to be known that she voted to kill the Department of Education or the EPA ? (OK, take Michele Bachmann and Marsha Blackburn out of the last example.)

If you think the bureaucracy is as scary as waking up next a naked Joy Behar, wait until you see Obamacare(less) in action.Wait until you have your doctor damn near throw you out of his office so he can take the next patient as soon as possible to make up for the lost revenue that Obamacare(less) has taken from him. Wait until you get taxed to death if you have to buy a glucose monitor or test strips. Or better yet, wait until your doctor needs authorization from some bureaucrat to treat you, only to find out that the bureaucrat he needs to speak to is on his hourly fifteen minute break. Once you take the profit motive from any organized human activity you get mush, throw government into that mix, you get very expensive and unproductive mush.

God help us all.

I never said Marsha Blackburn is perfect. However, a lot of the things she voted against, like WTO withdrawal I agree with.

You should thank your lucky stars that you don't have to deal with a dud like Kendrick Meek like I do.
