Happy Dependence Day

Yesterday was the holiday formerly known as Independence Day, a day in which we, as Americans, celebrated the birth of our country and reveled in the fact that we had the ability to forge our own destiny in this world gone mad. However, we can't look at ourselves as an independent people anymore. We The People have become We The Dependent On Government For Every Blessed Thing. Let's take a look at something Princess Nancy, Ruler of The People's Republic of Pelosi, said as reported by foxnews.com:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"It injects demand into the economy," [referring to unemployment benefits] Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. "It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name."

Pelosi said the aid has the "double benefit" of helping those who lost their jobs and acting as a "job creator" on the side.

"It's impossible to think of a situation where we would have a country that would say we're not going to have unemployment benefits," Pelosi said.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In other words, the idea of Rugged Individualism has been thrown into the nearest memory hole. In its place, the whole idea of the collective has metastasized, and the ugly tumor of dependence has grown on the psyche of the American people. Don't worry, it's not your fault you agreed to a loan you can't possibly afford. We'll bail you out. Sure, you should have finished high school and made something of yourself. Don't worry, we've got your health care covered. Are you a loser who's had the same job at McDonald's for the last five years without a raise ? Don't bother coming to work sober, we're going to spread the wealth around and even out the playing field, because, as you know, you're really, really special.

Um...excuse me....what about those of us who play by the rules ? What's in it for us ?

You're a greedy capitalist. We're all in this together. You can't keep just putting your boot to the neck of the poor. Just sit there, shut the hell up, and go along with the program. If you don't like it, too bad. We'll just "nudge" you toward our way of thinking.

Here's the reality of the situation, folks. The America we once knew and loved no longer exists. In its place is a European social democracy that punishes success with higher taxes and demonization by the government and its lackeys in the compliant lamestream media. I'm not going to sit here and pretend this just happened and it's all Chairman Obama's fault. This metamorphisis has been in the works since the early 1900's, ever since the Progressivevik movement emerged from the primordial ooze of failed European political theory. The insidous thing about it is the fact that it was done under our noses. For years on end, the public school system and the leftist entertainment industry have pounded it into our skulls that success was a dirty word. It was the slowest case of brainwashing in recorded human history that culminated in the election of our first socialist president. The day that Obama was elected was the day America began its death spiral into the Third World.

However, True Believer, it doesn't have to stay this way.

We can still stop this rapid decline. We must resist. No, I'm not talking about an armed revolution, so, Inner Party Member Sunstein, put away the rat mask. I'm talking about being informed and informing others. I'm talking about recapturing the magic of last summer when We The People told They The Progressiveviks to go screw themselves at the Obamacareless town hall meetings. It means sending direct messages to rags like the New York Times and Boston Globe by not buying their useless newspapers or advertising in them. It means not watching Sean Penn's latest movie. It means looking in your kid's textbooks and demanding explanations for the lies contained within. Yeah, I know it's not exactly like winning the Battle of Valley Forge, but it's just as important, if not more so. The patriots of old fought for freedom, us Neo-Patriots must fight to keep it.

Dependence Day or Independence Day....The choice is yours.

God help us all.
