Gee, call me crazy and overdue for a refill on my meds, but using the above definition, would standing in front of a polling place with a billy club attempting to intimidate white voters be considered terrorism ? Would somebody wearing a whole bunch of Factor Gear and an official Glenn Beck Tinfoil Hat have a serious problem (and not to mention some bruises) if he tried to walk past the Black Panthers who were "guarding" the Philadelphia polling place ? On that day in the November No One Wants To Remember, did the New Black Panther Party commit an act of terror ? If so, why is the Department of Injustice investigating Panthergate instead of the Department of Lack of Homeland Security ?

Granted, DHS Secretary Janet From Another Planet Napolitano couldn't beat my cat at a game of Clue, but why didn't DHS look into this matter ? Yes, I know Sherlock Napolitano was not the DHS Secretary when the incident occurred. I got that. I also know the Bush DHS should have investigated this when it happened instead of the DOJ. However, this little rant is not about the Bush DHS. After all, they didn't publish a report about the dangers of domestic terror. The Bush DHS didn't have us searching for extremists under every bed. Janet Napolitano's DHS did.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the DHS report : Rightwing Extremism: Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment:

DHS/I&A assesses that lone wolves and small terrorist cells embracing violent rightwing

extremist ideology are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States. Information

from law enforcement and nongovernmental organizations indicates lone wolves and small terrorist

cells have shown intent—and, in some cases, the capability—to commit violent acts.

— (U//LES) DHS/I&A has concluded that white supremacist lone wolves pose the most

significant domestic terrorist threat because of their low profile and autonomy—separate from

any formalized group—which hampers warning efforts.

— (U//FOUO) Similarly, recent state and municipal law enforcement reporting has warned of the

dangers of rightwing extremists embracing the tactics of “leaderless resistance” and of lone

wolves carrying out acts of violence.

— (U//FOUO) Arrests in the past several years of radical militia members in Alabama, Arkansas,

and Pennsylvania on firearms, explosives, and other related violations indicates the emergence

of small, well-armed extremist groups in some rural areas.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, according to that load of horse crap, we're under a constant threat of domestic terrorism. However, we are under the threat of Right Wing Extremist domestic terrorism only. Apparently, to Sherlock Napolitano only the Right of the political spectrum is capable of violence. Perhaps socialists of a feather do flock together after all. In the DHS report detailing left wing extremism, Leftwing Extremist Likely to Increase Use of Cyber Attacks over the Coming Decade, it says:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that cyber attacks are attractive options to leftwing

extremists who view attacks on economic targets as aligning with their nonviolent,

“no-harm” doctrine and tactic of “direct action.”

— (U//FOUO) Their no-harm doctrine includes claiming to ensure the safety of

humans, animals, and the environment even as they attack businesses and

associated operations.

I don't know which conclusion is more exasperating: a) the federal government is run by morons b) the federal government condones this sort of behavior since it's infested with leftist ideologues c) all of the above.

I'm going to go with "c" and the Black Panthers not being charged with committing an act of terror justifies my answer.

Make no mistake about it, the New Black Panthers are a leftist terrorist group that is extremely dangerous. Do I think they'll wear dynamite vests and walk into a preschool ? No. Do I think they're now emboldened by having the charges against them dropped by the Steadman Holder led DOJ ? You betcha. Do I think DHS will do nothing if they pull another one of their stunts during the Midterm Elections ? You betcha. Do I think this will open the door to chaos durig the next Presidential election ? Yes, so with a heavy heart I say,

God help us all.
